Parts of Bangkok still in knee-deep waters as Thailand's flood death toll rises to 23

At least four people have died in Bangkok as the death toll from floods across Thailand rises to 23. About 700,000 others have been affected by flooding in the capital. Floodwaters in eastern Bangkok are expected to drain within days. But Lat Krabang remains badly affected, with water levels in canals still high despite easing rainfall this morning. Early estimates put the economic damage from the floods at around US$350 million, but Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt says the true extent of the damage will only be seen once the water clears out.
