Johor's Forest City revival efforts hindered by controversial activities

Deep-rooted issues have been making it harder for Forest City in Malaysia to shake off its "ghost town" reputation. Among them, questionable and controversial operations that have set up shop to take advantage of the development's isolation. Authorities have taken action against alleged scam activities and unlicensed businesses. But controversies, along with the prospect of further police action, are making businesses and investors cautious, just as Forest City tries to reinvent itself as an investment destination.
