Asian Games 2026: Singapore's Loh Kean Yew storms into finals of badminton men's singles

Another historic breakthrough for Singapore at the Asian Games, with badminton player Loh Kean Yew securing at least a silver in the men's singles. This brings to an end Singapore's 20-year wait for a badminton medal at the Asian Games. Loh stormed into the final after beating South Korea's Yoo Tae-Bin in the semis, making him the first Singaporean to reach a badminton final at the continental event. Loh will meet a familiar foe, Thailand's Kunlavut Vitidsarn next. Kunlavut has taken eight wins from their 10 encounters. Alif Amsyar reports from Aichi, Japan.
