Israel election: Opposition could form government with Arab parties' support, says analyst

Israel faces political uncertainty after an inconclusive general election left neither Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's right-wing bloc nor opposition leader Gadi Eisenkot's camp with a parliamentary majority. Arab-led parties, projected to win a record 19 seats, could play a decisive role in breaking the deadlock. Mira Sucharov, professor of political science at Carleton University, says Eisenkot's opposition still has a path to power if it is willing to work with Arab-led parties. Speaking to CNA's Asia First, she says a unity government with Netanyahu is another option, although it would be a hard pill to swallow for Eisenkot, who had campaigned for political change.
