Interim shuttle buses serving Tengah residents will begin earlier - from the second half of 2027, instead of the end of next year. They will broadly follow the route of the upcoming Jurong Region Line, which has been delayed by six months. Ten stations along the new line, from Choa Chu Kang to Boon Lay and Tawas are now expected to open in mid-2028. Seven more stations will open under Stage Two, with the entire line expected to be operational by 2029. Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow says the interim buses mean commuters can still get the planned connectivity that residents have been looking forward to. Mr Siow also announced three new bus services for the area and Woodlands, as well as enhancements to popular routes to the city.
