Singapore authorities made 975 drug-related arrests at checkpoints last year — an increase of more than 50% from 2024. The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority and Central Narcotics Bureau say the increase reflects stepped-up detection and enforcement. Amid the growing drug threat, authorities are also mounting more joint operations. More than 1,400 such operations were conducted at checkpoints last year, about a third more than in 2024.
