Yemen's government forces are locked in intense battles with Ansarullah Houthi fighters on several fronts, ranging from the Red Sea coast to roads leading to the capital Sanaa. The government has vowed to retake the capital, with Deputy Defence Minister Major-General Samir Al-Sabri saying the decision has been made to "retake Sanaa." Fighting has intensified in Taiz, al-Jawf, al-Bayda, Hodeidah, Marib and al-Dhalea, with government forces claiming advances while the Houthis say they have repelled offensives. The Houthis are pushing towards the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, one of the world's most important shipping routes, while government forces seek to stretch Houthi positions across multiple fronts. The World Health Organization says at least 728 people have been killed or wounded since August 23, with more than 21,000 displaced from Taiz alone. Al Jazeera's Hamza Mohamed reports.
