Virgin Media O2 has extended its naming rights partnership for The O2 arena in London until 2038, in a deal described as the largest naming rights renewal of its kind in UK history. The agreement, which reportedly values around £200 million, builds on a relationship that dates back to 2005.
Under the renewed terms, O2 and Virgin Media broadband customers will receive 50% more tickets to shows at The O2 through Priority Tickets. For the first time, these customers will also gain Priority access to performances at indigo at The O2, the venue's 2,750-capacity space, offering them access to emerging artists before they progress to arena-scale shows.
AEG, which owns and operates The O2, stated that the venue has welcomed over 100 million visitors and hosted more than 6,800 events since its opening in 2007. The partnership has previously included initiatives such as temporarily renaming the venue 'The O3' during Drake's residency and creating a digital version of The O2 within Fortnite. The venue is preparing to celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2027.
