Ukraine conducted large-scale attacks on bridges and military targets in Russian-occupied Crimea, including the Chonhar road and railway bridges. The strikes are part of an evolving campaign to disrupt Russian logistics and isolate the peninsula.
The strikes on critical transport infrastructure aim to degrade Russia's ability to supply its forces in occupied southern Ukraine and Crimea, potentially impacting battlefield dynamics and isolating the peninsula.
Ukrainian forces conducted significant strikes across Russian-occupied Crimea, targeting key bridges and military infrastructure. The Da Vinci 1st Separate Assault Regiment confirmed attacks on the Chonhar road and railway bridges, as well as a pontoon crossing, disrupting critical Russian logistics routes. These operations are part of a broader Ukrainian strategy to isolate the peninsula and degrade Russian military capabilities.
Earlier, on June 11, the same regiment confirmed destroying approximately 50 Russian military vehicles loaded with ammunition and fuel on the Armiansk bridge, rendering it unusable. Commander Robert Brovdi stated that the goal is to isolate Crimea by disrupting supply lines, noting a significant drop in military cargo traffic along a key highway connecting Russia to the peninsula.
Russian officials claimed that air defenses intercepted 33 drones during the recent operations. Volodymyr Saldo, the Russian-installed head of occupied Kherson Oblast, reported damage to several bridges and imposed traffic restrictions.
