Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy revealed that President Donald Trump offered her husband, Sean Duffy, the position of Transportation Secretary because it was the only role remaining. Duffy himself stated Trump considered it a top department.

The comments offer a candid, albeit potentially self-serving, glimpse into the internal dynamics and decision-making processes within the Trump administration regarding cabinet appointments.
Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy revealed that President Donald Trump offered her husband, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, the position because it was the only role remaining. Campos-Duffy shared this anecdote on The Katie Miller Podcast, hosted by the wife of White House adviser Stephen Miller.
She stated that when asked about the conversation where Trump offered Duffy the job, she explained, 'He said he wanted to serve the president in any way. He ended up in transportation because that was all that’s left.'
Duffy, a former Fox host himself, interjected to clarify his perspective, saying Trump told him, 'If I wasn’t the president, I would pick the Department of Transportation over any department. It’s the best department, and I’m gonna give it to you.' Duffy believes Trump offered him the role because of his interest in infrastructure and building.
Campos-Duffy also recalled Trump telling her husband, 'Don’t F it up.'
The podcast also featured a similar exchange between Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his wife, Jeanette Dousdebes Rubio, who humorously undercut his claims about supporting Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s diet by stating he actually eats 'Pop-Tarts' and fast food.
