Tom Tiffany wins Republican nomination for Wisconsin governor

Representative Tom Tiffany has secured the Republican nomination for Wisconsin governor. Tiffany, who represents Wisconsin's seventh congressional district, will face the Democratic nominee, Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, in the November general election. The race is open after Democratic Governor Tony Evers announced he would not seek a third term. Tiffany entered the primary as the favorite, carrying the endorsement of President Donald Trump and the backing of the Republican Party of Wisconsin. He defeated Andrew Manske, who ran a protest campaign focused on inflation and the cost of living with approximately $150 in donor money. Tiffany previously served in Congress since May 2020, and before that, in the Wisconsin State Senate and Assembly. He described himself as a consistent, conservative, pro-Trump Republican. In a separate race, Wisconsin Democrats selected Rebecca Cooke to challenge Republican U.S. Representative Derrick Van Orden in the state's third congressional district.
