Socialist influencer Hasan Piker has filed a $72.5 million defamation lawsuit against conservative commentator Scott Jennings, alleging Jennings falsely portrayed him as advocating for the lynching of Black people. The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Washington D.C., claims Jennings misrepresented Piker's remarks from an August podcast and social media post. Piker, a popular Twitch streamer, stated that Jennings deliberately twisted his comments, which were originally made in sarcastic mockery of another commentator's extremist views, to appear as his own opinions. Jennings allegedly used a manipulated video clip on his podcast, omitting crucial context and adding a false caption.
