Russian investigators have dropped all murder charges against prominent businessman Ilya Traber and closed the investigation into him, state media reported on Monday. Traber, 75, a leading business figure for decades in St. Petersburg with extensive investments in ports and logistics, was detained in June in connection with the fatal 2020 shooting of businessman and politician Alexander Petrov.
State-run news agencies TASS and RIA reported that all charges against Traber had been dropped. He had already been released from pre-trial detention on health grounds, according to TASS. There was no official confirmation of the reports.
