Ruf, a German company that has transitioned from a Porsche tuner to a manufacturer of its own vehicles, has unveiled a new engine at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The company, recognized as a distinct manufacturer since 1983, has previously produced models like the CTR3 with custom chassis. For its next generation of cars, Ruf has developed a new 4.8-liter flat-eight engine, designated the B8.

The new B8 engine generates over 1,000 horsepower and 737 lb-ft of torque. It will be fitted to a lengthened CTR3 mule called the "Erprober," which will be driven up the hill at Goodwood by racing driver Tanner Faust. Full technical specifications for the engine are not yet available.
