US intelligence agencies believe that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has been targeted by a Chinese spy, according to a report by the New York Times. The alleged spy, Alice Huang, an executive at Singapore-based datacenter company Megaspeed, was previously suspected of smuggling Nvidia chips to China and passing commercial information to Beijing.
American officials, who had been surveilling Alice Huang, determined she had developed a close relationship with Jensen Huang. This access has reportedly alarmed White House officials, particularly given Huang's close partnership with Donald Trump and the Trump administration's restrictions on AI chip exports to China.
Nvidia stated that the CEO's interactions with Alice Huang were ordinary business meetings and that no sensitive information relevant to national security was shared.
