A record proportion of British voters now hold an unfavorable view of Reform UK Leader Nigel Farage, according to a poll by YouGov released on September 14, 2026. The survey found that 69% of Britons have an unfavorable opinion of the right-wing populist leader, the highest level recorded by YouGov's political favorability tracker in its decade of operation. This represents a two percentage point increase from the previous month. Only 24% of voters expressed a favorable view of Farage, while 57% viewed him "very unfavorably," a level not matched by any other major party leader.
In contrast, newly-installed Labour Prime Minister Andy Burnham maintains a 46% favorable rating, unchanged from last month, although his unfavorable rating has risen six points to 39%. The findings come at a challenging time for Reform UK, which is currently under investigation by parliamentary authorities over an undeclared £5 million gift from crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne. Two of Farage's aides, Dan Jukes and policy chief James Orr, have stepped down pending an investigation into an undercover donations sting. However, the party recently received a £72 million cash injection from two financiers, which it plans to use to enhance its policy and campaigning efforts, sparking debate over political financing in the UK. YouGov sampled 2,099 adults in Great Britain between September 9 and 10 for the poll.
