Netflix announced on November 3, 2026 that it is rolling out an AI Discover tab, a space where users can try new ways to find something to watch. The first experimental feature under the tab offers recommendations based on what a user is in the mood for.
Users pick from curated themes built from clips of shows and movies, based on mood, viewing preferences, available time, or what is new and trending. Themes include something light, scare me, family movie night and quick watches. After choosing a theme, users see matching titles and can narrow the selection further or choose something different to start over.
Each title carries a Tune Your Recommendations button beside Play and My List, letting users save suggestions they like or exclude titles they do not want suggested again. Netflix said the feature is powered by a new intelligence layer it has been building that responds to what users tell the platform in real time and keeps learning.
In a blog post, Netflix wrote: "There's more to enjoy and discover on Netflix than ever, but what sounds right for a quiet night in may look different for family movie night or a few spare minutes." The company said it has spent years refining discovery through signals such as Thumbs Up ratings and My List additions.
Netflix described AI Discover as its test kitchen, where it will try out new recipes for discovery, and said user feedback will help it decide which features to keep or improve before bringing them into the main Netflix experience. The tab is starting to roll out in the US to users who watch Netflix in English on supported TVs, with additional users planned in the coming weeks. Those with access see a Discover button with a red gem icon and a New label in the top navigation bar on their TV.
