Millie Bobby Brown and Louis Partridge on belly laughs, sibling vibes and Enola Holmes

Millie Bobby Brown and Louis Partridge are reprising their roles as Enola Holmes and Tewkesbury in the upcoming "Enola Holmes 3." The actors shared that their strong off-screen friendship has translated into a more effortless and affectionate dynamic between their characters.

Partridge described their relationship as almost sibling-like, noting that they often "belly laugh about the most random things" on set and tend to regress into their younger selves when together. This comfort level allows them to bring more ease to Enola and Tewkesbury's developing relationship, which in the third film sees them engaged before a new case involving Sherlock's disappearance interrupts their future.

Director Philip Barantini, known for "Adolescence" and "Boiling Point," sought to bring a darker, more grown-up tone to the franchise. He found alignment with Brown, who has been a producer on the series from the start and was already considering a similar direction for the film's narrative.

Himesh Patel is set to have a more substantial role as Dr Watson, following a brief cameo in the previous installment. Patel praised Brown's dedication to the franchise and her willingness to engage in "creative friction" to ensure the best outcome for the characters and world.

Brown expressed a deep sense of ownership and protectiveness over Enola, having been involved in pitching and developing the idea. She emphasized her commitment to bringing the character to life in the best possible way, while also being mindful not to overstep as a producer. She also defended Enola's modern manicure against online criticism, stating her love for a good manicure and her belief that Enola would also appreciate one.
