Manchester United has finalized a club-record multi-year sleeve sponsorship agreement with fintech firm SumUp, valued at over £20 million annually. This deal fills the vacancy left by DXC Technology and comes as the club prepares for its return to the Champions League after a two-year hiatus. SumUp, a London-based mobile payment solutions provider established in 2012, will have its branding displayed on the matchday shirts of United's men's, women's, and youth teams. This marks SumUp's first significant sponsorship in elite sports, coinciding with discussions about a potential IPO with a valuation between £8 billion and £12 billion. Marc Armstrong, Manchester United's chief commercial officer, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting SumUp's rapid growth and the club's global reach. SumUp's UK CEO, Luke Griffiths, emphasized the alignment between the club's passionate fanbase and SumUp's brand, aiming to connect with supporters and enhance their experience. While this new deal surpasses previous training kit sponsorships, it is understood to be less than Arsenal's reported £25 million-a-year deal with Deel and significantly less than Real Madrid's leading £60 million-a-year agreement with HP.
