The Football Factory, a London-based firm focused on creating a multi-club football network, has successfully surpassed its initial fundraising goal, securing over £100,000 at an £8m pre-money valuation. The company is preparing for a Series A funding round, which will be followed by a bond issuance planned for London and Dubai later this year.
Co-founder Edoardo Giacone explained that the firm's model integrates football, real estate, and technology to build "football-anchored ecosystems" rather than simply acquiring clubs. The company has already secured a club near Porto, Portugal, and plans to acquire three more assets, aiming for an exit with all four bundled together.
The firm's strategy leverages the resilience of real estate, viewing it as a more stable asset class compared to the performance-driven nature of football clubs. The projects will incorporate a "Football Citadel Operating System," which utilizes AI, and the company is collaborating with an AI lab in Italy. The ultimate goal is to create a new asset class powered by AI and real estate, built around football.
