A woman who accused rapper Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, of rape has formally stated her allegations were false and that she never met the artist. The accuser, known in court documents as Jane Doe, filed a lawsuit in 2024 claiming she had been drugged and raped by Jay-Z and Sean "Diddy" Combs at a party in 2000.
In a statement filed on Thursday in Jay-Z's subsequent lawsuit against her and her lawyers, Jane Doe wrote: "Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter never raped me. I have never met or spoken to Mr. Carter. Mr. Carter never engaged in any inappropriate conduct toward me whatsoever." She added that her claims against Carter and Combs were false and had caused Carter "immense pain, suffering, and damage".
