The Central government, marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 12 years in office, has reiterated India's zero tolerance policy against terrorism, stating that Operation Sindoor has made this stance even clearer. A document titled "Nation First, the Core Mantra" highlighted this approach, asserting that "Anyone who tries to spill the blood of Indians will be answered in the same language."
Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, 2025, was a military response to a terror attack on April 22 last year. It involved precision strikes on nine terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir. The conflict lasted approximately 88 hours before an understanding was reached between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
The government also emphasized the nation's progress towards self-reliance in the defense sector, noting that India is now exporting defense products after previously being heavily dependent on foreign nations. Over 36,000 defense products have been identified for domestic manufacturing, with over 12,000 already in production.
