The Health Bureau submitted a document to the Legislative Council on Thursday evening detailing proposed requirements for private hospitals and clinics, which were first floated in May last year. The regulations aim to ensure patients receive clear pricing information, including bilingual fee schedules and annual billing statistics. Institutions will need to publish revised price lists at least seven days before changes take effect and will be subject to monitoring by the Director of Health. For specified treatments and procedures, licensed private hospitals will also need to provide patients with service fee estimates.
