Initial public offerings in Hong Kong are experiencing a downturn, with a growing number of new listings failing to impress investors. Data shows that seven out of the twelve IPOs in September declined on their first day of trading. This trend has contributed to a total of 15 IPOs falling on debut in the third quarter out of 31 offerings. This contrasts sharply with the first half of the year, when only 14 out of 77 debuts resulted in declines. Medcaptain Medical Technology was among the notable September flops, with its shares plunging 43 per cent on the first day.
