Former NFL player Henry Ruggs has been denied parole by the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners, nearly five years after causing a fatal car crash in Las Vegas. Ruggs, a former first-round draft pick and Raiders wide receiver, was driving at speeds up to 156 mph on November 2, 2021, when he collided with another vehicle. The crash killed driver Tina Tintor, 23, and her dog. Prosecutors stated Ruggs' blood-alcohol level was 0.16% within the required two hours after the incident. He had been at TopGolf prior to the crash. In May 2023, Ruggs pleaded guilty to felony DUI causing death and misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter. He received a sentence of three to 10 years in prison in August 2023. Ruggs is scheduled to appear before the parole board again three months prior to his mandatory parole release date of August 24, 2027.
