Autonomous trucking startup Gatik announced on Tuesday that it has raised $200 million in Series D funding, signaling a surge in interest for driverless commercial freight. The funding round was led by Qatar Investment Authority and Koch Disruptive Technologies, with participation from Millennium Management, ARK Invest, and Intact Private Capital. Gatik stated that it has generated over $600 million in contracted revenue and completed 85,000 fully driverless orders across its operations. The newly acquired capital will be allocated to expanding Gatik's commercial operations and fleet, alongside continued investment in technology, infrastructure, and its workforce to meet escalating customer demand. Gatik CEO and Co-Founder Gautam Narang highlighted the company's foundation on real revenue, deep customer demand, and AI-driven autonomous technology proven in live supply chains. The startup currently moves freight between distribution centers and stores in Texas, Arizona, and Arkansas in the U.S., as well as in Canada. Gatik has set a target of operating more than 100 driverless trucks by the end of 2026. While Gatik did not disclose its valuation, it emphasized its operation within some of North America's largest supply chains, including partnerships with PepsiCo in the United States and Loblaw in Canada. Abdulla Al-Kuwari, head of industrials at Qatar Investment Authority, commented that autonomous freight is transforming the global logistics industry by enhancing efficiency and reliability.
