AiMOGA Robotics, an affiliate of China's largest auto exporter Chery Automobile, is preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) to secure funding for future growth and investments in the rapidly expanding humanoid robot sector. Zhang Guibing, head of AiMOGA and president of Chery International, stated that the company is in discussions regarding potential listing venues and anticipates a significant increase in humanoid robot deliveries next year.
The company, incubated by Chery, has already delivered over 3,000 robots globally, with 2,000 deployed internationally across more than 60 countries and regions. AiMOGA aims to reach 10,000 robot deliveries globally in the coming year and aspires to become a leading player in the global robotics industry.
AiMOGA has also developed and deployed humanoid police robots, with 110 units assisting in traffic management, crowd guidance, and public safety awareness campaigns in various Chinese cities. Zhang highlighted traffic management as a promising application, noting the challenging working conditions for human traffic police and the potential for robots to address labor shortages, particularly in overseas markets like the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
The move comes amid intense competition and investor interest in China's robotics industry, with other companies like Unitree experiencing significant market debuts. AiMOGA's expansion strategy includes diversifying beyond the domestic market by focusing on service and companion robots for overseas markets, while acknowledging the need to adapt to local regulations and customer needs for global reach.
