Bardella courts Polish allies for 'Europe of tomorrow'

French far-right leader Jordan Bardella commenced a two-day visit to Poland, aiming to forge alliances with nationalist and conservative figures. This trip is part of Bardella's broader strategy to build a coalition for his vision of a future Europe, ahead of the upcoming French presidential election.

In Warsaw, Bardella held discussions with Polish President Karol Nawrocki and Krzysztof Bosak, a prominent leader from the right-wing Confederation party, which is aligned with the opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party. Bardella expressed his belief that European nations must assert their autonomy and independence, positioning France to offer new leadership on the European stage. He highlighted Poland's significance in constructing a new European architecture focused on border protection and economic growth, and emphasized deepening Franco-Polish cooperation on military matters, particularly in light of perceived American withdrawal from Europe.

Bardella's itinerary also includes a visit to the Frontex headquarters in Warsaw and the electronic barrier on Poland's border with Belarus, a move he described as a gesture of solidarity with a country France intends to work with if his party wins the next election. This visit follows similar diplomatic efforts by Bardella in Portugal, Italy, and Belgium.
