Four men have been jailed after admitting to affray during a violent incident at Heathrow Airport on December 7. The group, wearing face coverings and dark clothing, discharged a substance believed to be CS spray into a lift at a multi-storey car park at Terminal 3. The gas caused distress to people in the lift and at a nearby Caffè Nero, with one barista reporting she began to cough and vomit blood. Following the incident in the lift, three of the defendants followed two women who had arrived on a flight from Johannesburg to a taxi rank and stole their suitcases. The judge described the violence as "serious and sustained" and noted the group had a "particular and determined interest" in the women's luggage. Tyrone Richards was sentenced to 27 months in prison, while Omoneke Whyte and Denzel Eduardo received 23-month sentences. Anton Clarke-Butcher was jailed for 21 months. The incident led to five people being taken to hospital and caused significant disruption at Terminal 3, which was closed for several hours.
