Edmunds, an automotive information website, has identified five vehicle models that will cease production after the 2026 model year. These include the Ford Escape, Volkswagen ID.4, Jaguar F-Pace, Toyota GR Supra, and Tesla Model S. The automotive experts at Edmunds suggest that these discontinuations present an opportunity for consumers to potentially purchase remaining inventory at a discounted price.
The Ford Escape, after a 25-year run, is being discontinued. While not always measuring up to top competitors, it offers comfortable seating, a smooth ride, and efficient hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrains. The 2026 Escape starts at $31,845.
The Volkswagen ID.4, an early competitor to the Tesla Model Y, is also ending production. Despite being outclassed by newer EVs, it offers good driving range and standard features. Edmunds estimates buyers could find around $10,000 off the sticker price for a 2026 Pro trim model, which starts at $46,570.
Jaguar's F-Pace will be the last gasoline-powered vehicle from the brand as it transitions to an all-electric lineup. After a decade without a redesign, the F-Pace still features an attractive design and potent engines. The performance-oriented SVR 575 Edition, with a 567-horsepower V8, is highlighted as a potential future classic. The 2026 F-Pace starts at $58,375.
The Toyota GR Supra, after a seven-year production run, will also end in 2026.
