Administrators for the collapsed Claire's Accessories UK business are seeking nearly £10 million for their work, according to reports from July 2026. The retailer's UK and Ireland operations entered a second administration on January 26, 2026, under CAUKI Limited, after a previous rescue attempt failed to stabilize the business.
This latest insolvency followed the initial administration of Claire’s Accessories UK Ltd in August 2025, where most of its business and assets were sold to Modella Capital. The CAUKI Limited administration resulted in the closure of all remaining 154 standalone stores by late April 2026, leading to approximately 1,300 job losses. The company's debts at the time of the latest administration approached £20 million, with creditors expected to lose £3 million.
Efforts to rescue the business, including negotiations with landlords for rent reductions and exploring new concession partnerships, ultimately failed to provide a sustainable financial position. The company's US parent, Claire's Holdings LLC, also entered bankruptcy proceedings in the US in 2025.
