Canada has announced new sanctions targeting 162 Russian individuals, entities, and vessels, following discussions at the G7 Summit. These measures are aimed at Russia's shadow fleet and its energy revenues.
During the summit, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and also held discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting between Carney and Modi focused on strengthening the bilateral partnership through trade, energy, innovation, education, and people-to-people exchanges. Both leaders reviewed progress and pledged to increase cooperation in areas such as defense, critical technologies, nuclear reactors, education, and renewable energy.
