Bitfinex Securities has successfully completed a $50 million tokenized capital raise for metals company Alkemya, marking its largest such transaction to date. The raise utilized the ALKN token, which represents limited partnership interests in Luxembourg-based Alkemya Metacore SCSp. This partnership holds approximately 7 million meters of 99.99% pure nickel wire, independently valued at about $1.64 billion.
The $50 million figure surpasses Bitfinex Securities' previous record of $30 million for a tokenized U.S. Treasury product. The platform has now completed seven capital raises and listed 16 assets. Alkemya stated that ALKN is its first tokenization project, offering investors fractional, digitally transferable interests in the partnership and enabling capital raising against its nickel asset base.
Alkemya intends to use the funds to commercialize engineered nickel products for applications in the semiconductor industry. Additional ALKN tokens will be available to eligible investors through Bitfinex Securities until October 15, with secondary trading slated to commence after the completion of the next fundraising tranche.
