Influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested in Miami by US Marshals on Saturday to face extradition to the UK on 38 new charges, including rape and sex trafficking offenses. The dual British-US citizens are set to appear before a federal court as prosecutors initiate legal proceedings to have them sent to the UK. The alleged offending is said to have taken place between July 2010 and August 2017. Andrew Tate now faces a total of 42 charges in the UK, and Tristan Tate faces 17 charges, following the Crown Prosecution Service's receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police. These new charges bring the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven. The brothers, who have consistently denied any wrongdoing, have been based in Romania where they are also under criminal investigation. Travel restrictions against them in Romania were lifted in early 2025, allowing them to travel to the US. Their lawyer, Joseph McBride, stated that the brothers are innocent and described the new UK charges as a 'political hit' designed to counter a defamation action they filed in the US.
