Airbnb has revised its policies to prohibit hosts from requiring guests to perform strenuous check-out chores, such as stripping bed linens or emptying trash. The updated community guidelines stipulate that guests cannot be asked to undertake tasks demanding significant time or effort, or those typically handled by cleaning staff. This change aims to simplify house rules and ensure guest requests are reasonable. Hosts are also prohibited from charging cleaning fees for guests not completing these now-banned chores. The updated house rules will be visible on listing pages, in the trips tab, and in reservation reminders.
