Homeowners Jon and Cassi Anderson have filed an antitrust lawsuit against real estate agent Kelly Connor Young, her brokerage The Platinum Group, and REX Real Estate. The suit, filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Colorado Springs, alleges that Young threatened to organize a boycott of the Andersons' home in 2019 because it was listed through REX. REX did not advertise on the MLS, was not a member of Realtor associations, and did not offer buyer broker compensation, according to the complaint. The plaintiffs claim this alleged threat restricted competition, discouraged buyer agents, and led to delayed sale and financial losses. They discovered the alleged 'blacklisting' in October 2023 through a recorded phone call. The plaintiffs are seeking compensatory and treble damages, as well as a return of their commission, alleging violations of federal and state antitrust statutes and breach of contract and fiduciary duty by REX.
