Aave's V4 lending market on the Base blockchain has expanded to include seven Coinbase tokenized U.S. technology stocks as collateral. This new feature, dubbed the Equities Hub, allows eligible users outside the United States to deposit these tokenized equities and borrow USDC, thereby maintaining exposure to the underlying companies without liquidating their holdings. The tokens represent economic exposure to real equities, with dividends reinvested and corporate actions like stock splits accounted for via an onchain multiplier. Chainlink provides the necessary pricing data, while LlamaRisk conducted the risk assessment for the initiative, which was deployed by Aave Labs on behalf of the Aave DAO. Following the announcement, the price of AAVE surged over 7% to trade around $146.65, contributing to a 13% increase over the past week and a 25% rise in the last 30 days. The market operates 24/5, aligning with traditional market hours for pricing updates, though borrowing and other functions remain available around the clock.
