The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in Kerala from June 12-14. The weather agency issued an orange alert for Kannur district and yellow alerts for eight other districts, indicating significant rainfall amounts. Orange alerts signify daily rainfall between 11 cm and 20 cm, while yellow alerts denote 6 cm to 11 cm. The IMD also warned of isolated incidents of strong winds, with speeds ranging from 40 to 50 kilometers per hour, and thunderstorms across the state on Friday and Saturday. Additionally, fishing activities along the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts have been advised against due to the possibility of adverse weather conditions and wind speeds reaching up to 60 kmph.
