A significant majority of Israelis believe Iran has emerged victorious in its conflict with the United States and Israel, according to a poll conducted by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The survey revealed that 92 percent of respondents hold this view.
Furthermore, the poll indicated widespread dissatisfaction with the war's impact and management. Eighty-three percent of Israelis believe the campaign has compromised their country's long-term security, and 86 percent expressed a negative sentiment regarding its outcome. A substantial 72.5 percent of respondents stated they do not believe Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's assertions of significant achievements and the removal of existential threats.
Nearly 88 percent of Israelis feel that their country has either failed to meet its objectives in the conflict or has only partially succeeded. Reflecting this sentiment, 56 percent of those polled rated Netanyahu's handling of the war as poor or a failure.
Despite the prevailing negative outlook, 48 percent of Israelis indicated support for the ongoing military campaign in Lebanon, which Israel states is focused on targeting the Iran-aligned group Hezbollah. Some supporters acknowledged this stance might risk confrontation with US President Donald Trump.
The poll was conducted between June 17 and June 20 by the Agam Institute in collaboration with Hebrew University. It surveyed 3,644 Israelis aged 17 and over, using a weighted sample to ensure population representation. The pollsters reported a maximum sampling error of 2.2 percent at a 99 percent confidence level.
