The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has declared Somaliland's new embassy in Jerusalem illegal, stating it violates UN resolutions and Israel's sovereignty. Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi inaugurated the embassy building on Monday during his first visit to the city. This move follows Israel's recognition of Somaliland in December, a decision that has drawn widespread denunciation from the Arab League, the OIC, and the African Union. Somaliland and Israel had previously signed a Strategic Joint Declaration of Cooperation. Palestine has also joined the OIC and other bodies in condemning the establishment of the embassy as a "flagrant violation of international law."
