Holders of Saudi Arabia’s Premium Residency are now required to obtain a dedicated work permit through the Kingdom’s Qiwa digital labour platform. The permit, costing SR100, is part of a wider set of labour market updates.
The Qiwa platform, operated by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, also confirmed that training contracts for beneficiaries of the Tamheer programme can be documented electronically. However, these contracts will not count towards Saudisation calculations or employment contract compliance.
Updated guidance on resignations allows employees to withdraw their request within seven days, provided the employer has not yet accepted it or deferred a decision. Notice periods will be determined by individual employment contracts.
