K Annamalai, former BJP state chief, has voiced concerns regarding the stringent security arrangements planned for the NEET retest scheduled for June 21. He argued that the implementation of high-level, classified, military-grade security, including AI face recognition, would not only add to the existing pressure on candidates but also potentially create a new set of problems. Annamalai highlighted that while the government's intention to prevent leaks is understood, the enhanced scrutiny, extended frisking, and increased exam duration from 180 to 195 minutes could negatively impact students who have prepared for months. He pointed out that these measures, which he described as akin to those for high-level classified software, are being applied to young minds preparing for an assessment. Despite these security measures, Annamalai also noted that students are facing issues with downloading their admit cards, an issue the National Testing Agency (NTA) has assured will be resolved promptly.
