South Korean defense firm Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) Ltd. announced on Thursday that it has completed the delivery of six additional T-50i advanced trainer jets to Indonesia. The company had signed a contract to supply these aircraft to the Indonesian Air Force in 2021, commencing deliveries in February. This latest delivery brings the total number of T-50 trainer jets supplied to Indonesia to 22, following an initial deal in 2011 for 16 aircraft. Indonesia has a broader acquisition of South Korean military hardware, having previously obtained 20 KT-1 trainer jets, totaling 42 aircraft. The defense sector cooperation between South Korea and Indonesia extends to Indonesia's participation in the joint development project for South Korea's indigenous KF-21 fighter jet.
