The baby was taken to Tin Shui Wai Hospital but was later pronounced dead, and police have launched an investigation into the cause.
Separately, a four-month-old baby boy died on Sunday after collapsing at his home on Cheung Hong Estate in Tsing Yi the previous day. He was found unconscious around 2pm on Saturday and taken to Princess Margaret Hospital, where he passed away. Police are investigating but initially see no suspicious circumstances.
In another development, a 32-year-old father was arrested on suspicion of child neglect after his four-month-old son was found unconscious at Tsz Oi Court in Tsz Wan Shan on Tuesday afternoon. Preliminary information suggests the baby and his three-year-old sister were left unattended. The infant was taken to Caritas Medical Centre and then Princess Margaret Hospital.
Additionally, two foreign domestic helpers were arrested after a four-month-old boy was found unconscious with a brain bleed and bruising at his home in Sheung Shui last Sunday. The baby's father reported that a maid found the infant unresponsive after feeding him. Doctors discovered the injuries at North District Hospital, and the baby underwent surgery at Prince of Wales Hospital. Security footage allegedly shows one of the maids shaking the baby and grabbing his neck.
