Google used its Made by Google 2026 event to announce its latest hardware, emphasizing artificial intelligence and iterative design improvements. The new offerings include the Pixel 11 smartphone series, the Pixel Watch 5, and the Pixel Tag, a tracker designed to compete with Apple's AirTag.
The Pixel 11 series features a redesigned, thinner camera bar and an all-glass surface. Google is increasing the base storage to 256GB, doubling the previous starting capacity, and raising the starting price to $899, a $100 increase from the Pixel 10. The company cited the decision to drop the 128GB option and RAM supply shortages as contributing factors.
Pro models, the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL, are being marketed with enhanced durability, including improved drop resistance and a new anti-scratch display coating. These models start at $1,099, up from $999 for the Pixel 10 Pro. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is noted to be nearly 10% lighter and 1mm thinner, with slimmer bezels, a 48-megapixel main camera, and 30x Super Zoom. It also features improved water and dust resistance and a redesigned hinge for enhanced durability.
AI integration is a central theme, with new Gemini-powered features. 'Live Transcribe' will now support American Sign Language translation into text via the Pixel Camera. 'Rambler' is a new voice-input feature designed to better understand natural speech patterns, including run-on sentences and filler words. 'Circle to Search' is more directly accessible from the Pixel Camera for object identification and translation.
The Pixel Watch 5 introduces health updates, offering monthly summaries of blood pressure and insulin resistance trends. The 41mm version starts at $399, and the 45mm version at $429. A Stephen Curry edition is available for $579.
Google's entry into the tracker market, the Pixel Tag, is priced at $29 ($99 for a four-pack) and connects to Android's Find Hub network. It can also be located via Pixel Buds using Gemini voice commands.
