Overton currently serves as a deputy assistant to the president for domestic policy, focusing on health issues. She is a medical doctor and holds a doctorate in clinical investigation from Johns Hopkins University. Previously, she worked at the think tank America First Policy Institute and was a White House fellow during the first Trump administration.
It is unclear whether Overton has the support of U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The reports indicate that no final decision has been officially made.
