CBS NFL analyst and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was stopped by police on July 23 on Interstate 43 in Milwaukee. Authorities said Romo was seen passing cars in a gore area, and he questioned what a gore area was during the stop. According to citations released by the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, an open bottle of an alcoholic beverage was discovered in the passenger’s side of Romo’s Jeep during an inventory before it was towed. Romo performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. Court records indicate Romo was later cited for refusing to take a test for intoxication after his arrest. He has a court appearance scheduled for September 21. Romo told deputies he had been coming from a golf course and was on his way to visit his grandparents. A deputy noted Romo had red, glassy eyes and an odor of an alcoholic beverage. Romo, 46, played in the NFL from 2004-16, making four Pro Bowl appearances and holding the franchise record for career touchdown passes with 248. Dak Prescott surpassed his career passing yards record last season.
