A Hong Kong retiree has been sentenced to 40 hours of community service for slapping a five-year-old boy. Lok Kam-ming, 61, received the sentence at Tuen Mun Court for an incident that occurred in January at the Grand Yoho shopping centre in Yuen Long. The court heard that Lok lost his temper after the child berated his domestic helper and then threw a toy at Lok. In response, Lok slapped the boy, who sustained bruises to his left cheek. Lok initially denied the offense but later apologized and expressed remorse for his actions.
