Graham, a four-term incumbent, defeated Republican challenger Mark Lynch, who had criticized Graham's foreign policy record. Graham, who has served in the Senate since 2003, was considered the frontrunner, benefiting from endorsements by President Trump, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, and Senator Tim Scott. Lynch was endorsed by Project 2025 architect Paul Dans and former national security adviser Mike Flynn.
Andrews, who ran unopposed in the Democratic primary, secured endorsements from EMILYs List and former Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison. The Palmetto State has not elected a Democratic senator since 1998. Cook Political Report rates Graham's seat as 'solid Republican.'
