Austrian-Canadian billionaire and automotive magnate Frank Stronach has been found guilty of sexual assault and indecent assault. The verdict, delivered by Ontario Superior Court Justice Anne Molloy, pertains to charges related to two complainants and incidents that occurred decades ago. Stronach, 93, had pleaded not guilty to 12 charges. Prior to the verdict, prosecutors withdrew one charge and agreed that Stronach should be found not guilty on four others, leaving him guilty on two of the remaining charges.
Stronach, who built his fortune by founding auto parts giant Magna in 1957, also established The Stronach Group, a company involved in horse racing. He resigned as Magna's chairman in 2011 and later founded his own political party in Austria. His trial began in February, with arguments concluding in April.
